Omega Speedmaster 1978 model year
If the year of production is really important (birth year watch?) then buying from a someone whose watch already has the ‘Extract From The Omega Archives’ is the only real proof. There are websites which will give you a rough year based on the serial number but it’s not conclusive.
Depending on how deep you want to get in the hunt I would recommend buying the book ‘Moonwatch Only’ and swatting up on your model of choice, in this case a 145 0022 -78 so you can recognise dial and bezel variations. And as with all vintage watches, condition is everything.

I wonder if anyone on here had an idea where I can locate an Omega Speedmaster 1978 model year? I have looked on usual sites but not come up with much.
