Not Tool Porn by any means but in the absence of a milling machine for mitring tubes, I bought a tube notcher which is pleasingly hefty and nicely made

Tidy that. I’ve got a JD2 version that is as solid as a rock. It’s so reliable I’ve not had to bother using the milling machine.

Some prototypes made out of cheap mild steel.

I forgot making the rise out of a separate tube wouldn’t use up any of the handlebar tube so the top one is about 930mm wide!

Surely you must have an expensive ratchet to use rather than an adjustable wrench

I have some Halfords ratchets, don’t tend to use them for any bike stuff though.

They don't tend to like being used to undo things that are tight I thought

If the torque required to undo the bolt exceeds that of the range of the wrench, then I believe so
