• Was suggested I come here from the ebay thread after someone bought it and then decided he didn’t want it following a scammer buying it and then getting contacted by eBay to say they were a scammer, so a bit fed up of there!

I recently inherited a watch, it was in a tin of things my grandmother kept belonging to my grandfather, he died in ‘92 and she died last year. Following a bit of research it seems it’s an Omega 6B/452 1953 “fat arrow”, I don’t know where the watch came from as my grandfather was in the navy during ww2 and I think he left at the end of the war so wasn’t a pilot in 1953 when these were issued. My best guess is that as he was an office clerk for British rail and it may have been recovered from the lost property at London Bridge station as did my first bike but that’s another story! As such it doesn’t hold any sentimental value, and I’d rather have some cash towards something I can enjoy!

It was suggested by someone on ebay the back engraving is different to others, and I’ve removed the back and it seems a genuine omega case so not sure if it is messed around with or when (likely 30+ years ago if it was!).

The watch runs once wound, but does lose a bit of time over a day, I’ve not checked how much!

Wondering if there is any interest or advice on if there is a better place to sell it, seems like dealer price is about £3k, eBay price ~£2k, would be happy with £1600 but let me know if I’m way off here!

I did buy a nato strap for it but as it would involve cutting off the leather strap I’ve not done anything with that yet..
