I’m a fan of Gildan - cheap as chips, not cut like a sack and plenty of colours. I use them for smart-ish when they’re new then work/exercise as they get a bit of wear. Best I’ve found so far.

Agree with that. But they don’t stay soft and get crispy after a while. I’ve been looking to switch my basic tees range but there’s not much around. Tried the uniqlo supina recently but it fits like a sack.

Yeah true. Although not great environmentally, they’re so cheap you can buy enough that the gradual crispness doesn’t matter. Uniqlo are crap, lose structure very quickly - was not impressed.

Got any other tees you can recommend? I buy 10 new white tees every 2-3 years and wear them until they collapse. Been using Uniqlos basic tee recently which I think are great for the money. They don't stay soft like you say but I don't mind. They're about to turn see-through now though, but that's after about 100 washes so nothing to complain about. Need to get a new batch in though.

I was talking about Gildan going crispy. They’re pretty good though if you like the fit. I had read uniqlo we’re ok but maybe they’ve changed because I ordered one last week and it’s trash.

Just checked and I got the supina ones back in 2018. Quite a while ago but to me they've been fine. They're certainly not high end or super quality but good for the money I think

I do a similar thing by picking up a batch of black/white/navy Carhartt short and long sleeve t-shirts from here every couple of years. They hold up far better than anything from the high street

It was the fit of the uniqlo I found terrible. Baggy with a neck that feels like it’ll stretch (a personal hate of mine).

They look really good. Are they 100% cotton though?

The block colours are- then the marl ones are a cotton/polyester mix

Anyone worn Dickies 874 "work pants" to actually work? They thick enough to stop me welding my nuts?
-
• #239
65% polyester for welding 😬

Interesting, will check them out. How relaxed is the fit? Do they fit normal if I size down? Currently using S in uniqlo tees
-
• #241
I sized down as recommended, from medium to small, and they're pretty much perfect. Cut a little longer than most t-shirts but that suits me just fine at 6ft.

Tried some on, they’re like cardboard. Melty cardboard.

Someone start a T-shirt thread FFS.
-
• #244
Too simplistic; 3 threads at least.
T shirts which I don't give a fuck about because they cover my nakedness while I am working and will be destroyed quickly (cheapest on Ebay).
T shirts which are expensive but have WorkCred and I am wealthy enough to wear even if they might get trashed (most brands in this thread).
Designer WorkWear which has a minor risk of light smudging but is acceptable in artisan brewhouses and cafes.

3 threads at least.
And a list.

Uniqlo do a really thick long sleeve T-shirt in tightly woven cotton that’s great for the workshop. White for woodwork, navy for metal. Even has a little breast pocket for the odd screw or drill bit. The sleeves are also cut quite short and have a cuff.

Can 2nd these really nice long sleeve T's.
Also I got some repro M65 trousers by Helikon that I was genuinely surprised about the quality.
Been looking for a lightweight ripstop cotton pair but they are all serious quite pricey -

Are strap-on kneepads as annoying as the pockets flavour?
I'd rather tip the money down my throat, unless knee-nirvana beckons.

Gonna drop the most I've ever dropped on trousers tomorrow (£240) unless there are any better suggestions for class 1 type c chainsaw trousers. Arbortec breathflex btw
I'm wearing one of the Gap crew necks at the moment, they're decent. If you get them during one of Gap's numerous sales they're good quality for the price.
