  • I've had two new builds now (including the current place) and the two biggest positives are modern building techniques; ie knowing where all the wires are, that all the walls are straight and that everything is in warranty for 10 years and the lack of a forward chain.

    Of one of those can vary drastically depending on the quality of the builder...

    Probably very little is actually covered for 10 years unless you purchased additional cover.

    It's mostly 2 years for everything covered and repaired by the developer.
    10 years for Structural issues with foundations, walls and roof.

  • Well off course things like electrical goods or those plants they put in your front garden aren’t covered but ‘structural’ issues covered / guaranteed for 10 years?
