Sincerely, I'm sorry you lost out; but to suggest that you're blameless and that it might be worth cutting corners when trading is not on.
If it makes anyone feel any better. I once received some forks which weren't as described. Seller claimed they must have been damaged in transit and opened an insurance claim with parcel force. Parcel force wouldn't deal with me, only seller, and by the time I got any resolution PayPal dispute had expired. Seller got a payout (I think) based on all the evidence I documented, and then when totally quiet, never responded again. I could have probably tried to get reimbursed but couldn't be fucked for £300 and the forks are still actually useable.
