  • Sorry I should be more clear, the photo of the packaging using wheels as padding isn't how it arrived, there was some polistyren between all the bike bits and the outside of the box, but still expected slot better securing considering international shipping. No tubes wrapped ofcourse, just brick sized bits of polistyren.

You're partly right in saying the other bits were in condition that was stated, the cranks and the seat post.
I don't think I'm blowing this out of proportion being unhappy with the two dents and the other scratching/rub that it arrived with.

I think £150 is more than fair considering, as someone said, the value of the frame is like halved and unsafe to ride on, I couldn't/wouldn't in good conscience sell it on with the defects stated.

I will admit it was a good deal before, if it arrived how the item seemed in photos but now it's definitely not.

I've now been swayed by comments that maybe you didn't sell it to me knowing about these defects and hiding them (likely happening in shipping) like I thought. But what I can't understand is your lack of admission and understanding towards the situation. I have shipped things before, damaged in transit and reimbursed the individuals from a place of guilt and accountability.

Seller won't negotiate a compromise or accept wrongdoing which in my view is bad faith. Let it at least be a reminder for everyone else to get insurance on shipping and make sure that packaging is done properly and pictured before it's send.

This was how it arrived which didn't make me think it was absolutely battered, but made me slightly concerned.

    Edit:

I think £150 is more than fair and I'm still being ripped off for the condition of the other items, I'd just rather be less "down" than I am, and I feel like it's a reasonable request... Am I in the wrong here or being unreasonable?

  • Really shit packaging. I buy and sell frames regularly for around £200. I ALWAYS:

Wrap all 8 frame tubes and fork individually
    rigid drop out spacers
    All moving parts secured
Rigid box BIGGER than the item, not sticking out and wrapped in tape

for a £1200 item this is really piss poor but at least the seller might learn something
If an item of mine arrived like that I would offer a full refund regardless of insurance. Frame is unsafe and it's a shame you only asked for £150.

  • Absolutely and totally 100% agree with all of this. Probs posted 100 frames easily and always pack as you described. Never had one arrived damaged yet (although have probs fated it now).

That frame is fucked. If was that way before being sent and photos or damage werent sent to the buyer or if damage happened during transit its totally the sellers resp to sort out.
