I think we sort of agree, i could present my case : my road bike is a 20 year old caad r700 frame which i paid 120£. i kitted it with a dura ace groupset and the total build cost is 900£.... and so on and so on.
The carbon version of your giant tcr barely sells for 300 on ebay because people just don't like it anymore. however, the ISP rabobank so often posted on here would be fiercely contested in a sealed bid auction : )more to the point, that s-woks does not belong on the allez sprint insta page !
Well, I like aluminium frames and ride, amongst others, a 2013 TCR SL1 (and 2009 Cervélo S1 when I'm at my folks). I certainly rate them more than a lot of carbon bikes of similar vintage. I also paid £960 for the Giant (cheaper than trade), new bike, carbon seatpost, full Ultegra groupset, a bit shop-soiled but really because the only aluminium bike people wanted to buy was a CAAD.
I just cannot see an 8 years old aluminium Allez frame selling for a grand, even if it's a limited edition one. I guess the market will decide, GLWS!
