COVID-19 vaccines

  • #coviddownunder Apparently only servicing the over 40s in my state, but just been invited for some Pfizer, despite being 29 and no medical issues. Guess they have vaccines which are soon to expire and need to get them out there.

  • I've never been bothered by needles and AZ#1 is still sore 3 days later so I don't think this localised pain has much to do with muscle tension or fear of needles or whatever, I think it must be the nature of the vaccine - maybe an immune response at the injection site?

  • So the day after. Feel like I've been hit with a bat in the shoulder. Can't really move my left arm too much without quite a lot of pain. However, other than feeling a bit groggy, I've had no flu like symptoms or fever or any wild dreams so I think that's me for a few days.
I'm also not bothered by needles and wasn't tense at all when having the injection

  • Moderna sent me into all shivers and sweats for one joyous evening.

Also, my partner and I had our jabs done on different arms so ended up royally pissing each other by unavoidably breathing/snoring in each others faces all night.

    Swap sides of the bed

  • Woah woah woah that'll be enough of that kind of talk!

  • What the fuck?

  • We occasionally do "weekend sides" where I let her have the good side for 2 days only. Our bed is in the corner and I'm not climbing out of the bottom for a wee in the night on a school night.

Edit: sounds a bit controlling, she likes the side against the wall, it's cosey or something, I hate it and you get cuddles from our two kittens in the morning if you're on the non wall side

  • You should get bunk beds

  • So we can argue about who gets top bunk? No thanks

  • Get two sets of bunk beds and then you can both have a top bunk.

Don't think I have ever seen anything on the internet more shocking. The one immutable law of life is that your side of the bed is fixed for life.

  • But then who gets the left one and who gets the right?

  • Bottom bunk shirley?!? Unless you're 8.

  • My bunk beds are arranged on a Falkirk Wheel type mechanism.

  • Alright, old man

  • The one immutable law of life is that your side of the bed is fixed for life.

Move in with my other half in 1999 - I was on the right. Moved house in 2001 - I moved to the left. Moved house in 2011 - I moved to the right. Refurbed our bedroom and moved the bed in 2021 - I moved to the left.

  • [shudders] Didn't realise there were so many wrong'uns out there.

  • In the depths of the first lockdown we swapped sides of the bed just so it felt like we were sleeping somewhere else. :D

  • Variety is the spice of life or something

  • See also the standing shitter thread

  • What is going on?

    EDIT A bed side discussion...FFS

  • Separate beds already? How very royal.

  • Not sure the Royals have bunk beds
