So previously diagnosed asthmatic takes asthma medicine that's covered by a TUE and that's a doping story?
Wait 'til the Times discover what goes on in rugby.

More Times blurred minds
Salbutamol was, in 2012 as today, permitted up to 1600μg per 24h by inhalation, without the need for a TUE. What's behind the paywall on that story? I'm not aware of anybody ever getting a TUE to use more salbutamol in competition than everybody can use without one. There is, and was in 2012, a mechanism for an athlete to demonstrate that an AAF for salbutamol was not an ADRV, but it doesn't involve a TUE, either prospective or retrospective.

Who's leaking this stuff? Weird.

I read that, and it says nothing.

This stuff about the effect of Nike 'super spikes' is interesting. What with all these WR's tumbling.

I'm going to buy a pair and run a 2 he marathon. That's what happens right?

what have they got Pidcock on to be back on the bike (out of the saddle) less than a week after smashing up his collarbone?

My mate's bought a pair and already taken 1.5 mins off his 5km PB, just in a training run. He was trying to get to sub-20, and he's run sub-19. Every run he does, he's smashing his Strava times. Says wearing them round the house feels like being on a bouncy castle. That 2hr mara is just around the corner.

It must feel a bit cheaper than a training breakthrough though. It's like those shark suits that were banned in the pool. What happens when they get banned, stop making them and no one gets near their bests again?
looks at TT bike
looks sheepishly at ground
(but seriously though, that's why I take note of Power PBs rather than times)

When a pro-cyclist breaks their collarbone, it’ll be plated within 24 hours, so there’ll be some discomfort for a while, but it’s structurally sound again.

I knew about the Vaporfly shoes because I know a lot of runners who have been beating their PBs in them and a number of other runners who are strictly against using them. Didn't know about the cheaty 'super spikes' though!

Speak of the devil, my colleague has cracked, CRACKED I TELLS YA!
I don’t know if these have been tunnel tested, but they’ve got a long aero boat tail on them. Very thick sole and, yes, quite bouncy castle, particularly under the toe box. Slightly bizarre lace position. Very light indeed.

Are marathon runners not in calf guards/trip socks yet?
-
• #8823
I looked into those but Bont are a bit shit and trying to do midfoot drilling on those was like, nah.

• #8824
They've been using compression socks for longer than TTers. They have an aero benefit (on the bike).

Given the known benefits of things like skinsuits, I'm surprised marathon runners are still in flappy shorts and vests. No idea if there are regulations against that sort of thing.
Even in the best case, the use of supplements is an attempt to obtain an advantage over those who consume only whole foods. You're already over the line which demarcates the Corinthian spirit.
