Things are going surprisingly well here... Meabh arrived on Thursday and the two cats miaowed at each other through the door, but nothing too unfriendly. Meabh cried all night and Celeste smugly slept right next to me on the bed. On friday evening my boyfriend decided it was time for them to meet - I thought it was a bit too soon, but it was fine and the two cats slept on the bed with us that night! Meabh hasn't been very well but was a trooper at the vets and seems to be on the mend. Celeste looks MASSIVE next to Meabh and is quite keen to hunt her tail, but isn't otherwise too bothered by her. Meabh is keen to eat all Celeste's food and likes to jump onto laps for cuddles.

Yeah this is Cannoli's signature move with our older girl Toppy. He really does antagonise her with it, although she does reign him in eventually with a few cuffs

Anyone have any tips for getting a local male cat to stop scenting everything we own? He comes round every day or so and sprays anything he can reach. Current victims have been bike bag, bbq, outdoor chairs, cat crate, extension lead...
I don't know the owners and have scared him off every time I've seen him, but he'll still come to our front door, spray it and then cry for our two females.

we had nightmares with this the first time our cat went on heat, but after being spayed, local tom cat interest gradually declined.

Yes. They haven't had huge amounts of interaction with him as we moved in December and the cats haven't been out that much. For some reason our two don't get on at all with the new locals. Never had a problem before being surrounded by about 10 neighbour cats, but now with the two new neighbours they seem to exclusively fight.

Anyone have any tips for getting a local male cat to stop scenting everything we own?

My neighbour fed my cat then complained when he sprayed in his house! I paid £50 to have his testicles cut off.

Bit harsh, could have had a word with him to begin with?

Unfortunately he always sprays before announcing himself. But yes I am considering it.

Supersoaker is the way to go. Any thing else is just cruel.
