Yeah nice those. I went white but they do show the dust weirdly

I would 100% go raw alu, but I am a tart.

How you getting on with this by the way?
-
• #2680
I haven't had time to set it up yet, and probably won't for a while. But all the reviews indicate that its quite similar to the Cirklon except that only one channel has CV support (hence Drum Sequencer) and basically no midi support. So... we'll see but fingers crossed it's a keeper

Nice one @BleakRefs. Those little Genelecs are ace.
I lent my Adam A5X's to a mate and have been using my stereo set up of a Yamaha CA-600 amp and Celestion UL6s for the last year or two. It's kind big and squashy with loads of treble detail and understated bass. I don't miss the Adams at all. To be fair I do most of my mixing on DT880s as well. Love them.

Interesting so many people are into the DT880's. I've had the DT250 80ohm for 20 years and just bought a pair of DT250 250ohm to replace/upgrade them. I don't use headphones a lot but these are great for the money and are very flat response (especially the 250ohm version) if anyone's looking for a cheaper option than the 880's.

I've had my 880s nearly ten years now. Don't generally give them any thought at all except occasionally notice how good they still sound.

Gotta say thanks to everyone who OKed the Genelecs - I'm amazed by the clarity and soundstage of them, they're the nicest monitors I've ever used and that includes in big studios. Surprised by how robust the sub sounds too - it doesn't sound artificially inflated but there's enough there for me to be able to manage sub well enough if I need to before taking it to bigger speakers. I was listening to some old rnb and Rage Against The Machine and you can litearlly hear every vocal/guitar overdub, and where it's placed in the mix. Amazing. Wish I hadn't waited so long to pick up a pair.

Good stuff man, enjoy.

@BleakRefs Nice, glad you like them.
Seems like a good excuse to show off mine, with 8030 for size reference.

That setup must sound like the first four black sabbath albums playing at once. Awesome.

Ha, sure. SPL ratings don't really say anything to me, but these can do loud with ease. I think they work well with any type of material (as they obviously should), but particularly listening to gently compressed well recorded stuff has been kind of eye opening. It's very cool to turn up the volume and have all the dynamics!

Also some good percussion for free here
Had a fun weekend recording, thank you very much @freddo for lending me a reverb. I don't do the gram but one of the singers sent me this from the session.
Got a little bit of electrical noise between the blackbox and the gs1 but only at the venue, was fine in rehearsal, bit anoying but I'll have to troubleshoot a bit more to try recreate the issue.
Recordings are still in post but here's a release from the label to catch a vibe.

I'm going to post a proper ad later, but I need money to put towards BRP, so I'm going to put my Moog Sub 37 up for sale for £800 if anyone is interested.
-
• #2698
Oof that's priced to sell! If I had the readies I'd be all over that
-
• #2699
I have a feeling I might have to sell all my moogerfoogers too 🙁

Not in the market for a Sub37 (great synth tho) but dibs if you’re selling an MF-104M…
Black as they were the cheapest but I was sorely tempted by the raw aluminium ones. Didn't seem worth the extra £100 but look amazing:
