I dont like it when the cable comes round the head tube as it looks a bit funny to me. I could put the hole on the other side, but then the cable would not be routed "correctly" which would bug me also.

there are a few trek disc forks on ebay at the moment, pretty sure i could route the cables into the headtube with one. But i think it would look strange on a steel bike.

Ah , UK routing

Yeah I've looked at all the madone forks too but they're just too chunky

Also, i came across this image on reddit, and now i feel a desperate urge to build one. So that's added to the project list.

made some progress on the DI2 frame, have welded out pretty much the whole thing. Ready for seatstays and other bits asap. Then will get that and the track frame off to powdercoat.

Can't wait to see more of your work!

Excellent work as usual! Looks like it will be extremely stiff with those fat tubes. What colour are you going for?
-
• #340
Thanks! It does feel stiff yeah, the seat tube in particular helps i think as its 38mm, but the MAX chainstays and formed downtube also probably contribute. Itll have to be pink i think hah.
Im gonna go to Mario Vaz for these as it seems a bit of a shame to powdercoat a spirit frame, and was thinking about this kinda colour. https://www.instagram.com/p/BoPeoHBhDEd/

I winterised my road bike, as im planning on getting that new road frame painted fairly soon, and it will become my "nice" bike. Feels good now, almost wish i had somewhere to commute to.

I nabbed the fork off my gravel bike, so that i could put the other disc road fork on my new frame. Gravel bike got a kinesis gravel fork ive had kicking around for a while that improves the clearances so its a win on both fronts.

Ah that metallic pink is nice. And the road bike looks great with that fork and mudguards. Really amazing work, all looking very slick!

i think this is the blingest bike photo ive ever taken. I really want some SG75DD's for this but will see if any appear for sensible money.

Yeah this is amazing, the welds look mega tidy to my untrained eye!
Why not put a hole in the down tube?
