What's with British media always naming and shaming criminals with their full names? In the Netherlands that's prohobited unless the suspect/defendant/convicted agrees to be named in full. Only unless there is severe necessity, for instance an immediate threat, a suspect may be named with full first and last name. Reading it often in English media it's obviously legal, but has it ever been object of discussion?
That's quite disturbing. It's not up to the press to take responsibility though. It's up to the government to protect one's privacy. You cannot expect any decency from your average daily mail type 'journalism'. Strikes me that in the UK this is not properly arranged.
