  • The second bit always had the whiff of bolleaux about it (I should ask the engineers at my current place), but radars can definitely be bad for you if you’re up close and in the wrong place.

  • I used to hear interesting stories from old colleagues and old school broadcast engineers about the effects of 100,000 watt FM transmitters. I am not sure that the whiff of bolleaux was that strong.

    You have to be pretty close to suffer negative effects. That's one of the reasons that broadcast transmitters are allowed in urban areas such as Crystal Palace
