I have tried to enjoy watching (with a view to playing) apex but I just can't get my head around it. I guess part of it is having classes but I suppose that's no different to battlefield. Maybe the look of it? Seems like if final fantasy did unreal tournament which is a fairly solid no from me.

What else are people playing/watching?

I wouldn’t call them classes really.
Each legend has got unique abilities and play style, but you can’t really rely on them all the time.
If you can’t aim and shoot, you’ll die 100% time. They are definitely helpful in all sorts of situations, but still you need actual guns to kill people.

I absolutely get what you mean about the look.
Before I got into Apex 2 years ago, I was heavily into PUBG (had around 80days on it) so completely different look.

I was avoiding Apex for few weeks as thought it’s just another Fornite.

One day got totally fed up with PUBG, gave Apex a try and got totally hooked up.

I would 100% not compare it Final Fantsy and not really to Unreal.

It’s a sci-fi shooter set in future on colourful and weird looking planets.

Some of the skins may look over the top, but that was in PUBG and any other moder multiplayer game with rainbow skins.

As I may said before, it’s hands down best multiplayer game I’ve ever played (and I’ve played a lot FPS/TPS in past 15 years).

plus the gunplay in apex is so solid, as you'd expect from respawn with their pedigree. game's not without its issues ofc (no game is) but it is definitely moreish. actually sometimes think there's msg in it

why do all the streamers seem to hate olympus but love world's edge ? I hate the look of WE and all the different levels-based fighting in the cities on WE (fragment/east cap) is so confusing and stressful (even if it is fun). what's the consensus #onhere ?

WE came first so people are more likely to prefer it but I think it's more a hate of Olympus. It's a mix of always feeling exposed with little cover while also smaller and easier to get across.

WE was always first choice, especially with Pro/Streamer community.

It’s the best map for pro level play (I’m talking Predator ranked and $100 000 Tournaments).
It’s the biggest map, with lots of places to land and loot.
Lots of options for rotations.
Us - casual players - can’t/won’t appreciate that as much, but for people above it’s very important.

The most hated map is definitely Kings Canyon. The anount of hate it was/is receiving from pro comunity is really big.
Shit loot, small map, lots of tiny choke points. Just not made for big brain plays.
The recent updated helped it a little, but people are still not really into it.

When Olympus was released, I’ve stopped playing for the first 2 weeks as it was the only map on rotation. I hated that much.

Now with current season I love Olympus and personally not enjoying WE that much.

1.Kings Canyon (just love it)
2.WE
3.Olympus

When it comes to fighting in capital on WE, I get what you mean.
But people just love that place, as most of the time it’s non stop action.
And if you know how to play the main zipline buildings, it’s so much fun to play with your opponents.

Genuinely entertaining to watch the good players play.

Playing it with ransoms is massively infuriating but if you know anyone with two thumbs that's even vaguely capable of communicating then it's fun to play too.

This coming from someone that's played a lot of CoD, middling amounts of apex & Fortnite and a tiny amount of pubg.

As far as I’m aware, Nintendo haven’t cut the price off the switch since release (classic Nintendo).

The OG switch is around £280 and the lite is around £190.

The difference between the two is the lite doesn’t connect to the tv or have removable controllers.

If you just want a portable console then go for the Lite.

Anyone been following the fallout from this week's New York Subliners Warzone tournament?

It's been clear for a while that streamers are gaming the match-making system using fake teammates to get into easy lobbies, I'm not sure how a team of four is doing it in quads though? The winners obviously did something but it's not as obvious as the extra-console trick some streamers do.
