Had my second Astra Zeneca vaccine yesterday at Sandown race course, Esher.
Very quick, very efficient. In and out in less than 15 minutes, there wasn't even a chair to sit down. Just stand by a raised desk, roll up your sleeve and bam, in it goes.
Got home, had lunch and fell asleep for a couple of hours. Was supposed to be working from home and missed a meeting but oh well.
Slightly sore arm today which was pretty much all I had last time. May head out for a spin later to see how I feel on the bike

Another shout out for the system here. Given government (and society as whole tbh) track record on mass IT system integration projects, this has been nothing short of a miracle. Almost as amazing as the vaccine development itself. Hopefully some lessons are learnt - I work with IT folks at the DVLA a fair bit and this would blow their minds!

Had no2 AZ yesterday at selhurst Park. Not quite as quick as the first one at the Oval, but in and out in 20mins or so. Bit of a temperature this morning and pretty lethargic, but equally had a few beers in the sun last night so may well be a hangover combo.

sore arm today, slightly achy muscles in general but still contemplating a half hour gentle spin so not bad.

Cancelled my booking for a 2nd dose and was able to rebook it 4 weeks earlier than before (down from 12 weeks to 8 weeks between doses). I'm 45.

Second stabbing booked after a text yesterday. 12th June. I was speaking to a local GP on a club ride yesterday and he was saying they're about to switch to allowing anyone over 18 to book.

Moderna on Sunday. 1st dose.
Feel like I’ve been hit by a fucking train this morning. Arm still sore, guts churning and generally feel like death. Have stayed hydrated and not a sip of booze over bank holiday.
Glands aren’t up but def not feeling right at the mo.
I’m a little underweight which might have a bearing on it. -

Vaccine system south of the border seems a lot better than up here.
Mrs M_V has been doing enquiries on the website because she has several younger friends who have had theirs, some up to 10 years younger and no underlying health complaints or anything.
I’ve not because I’m on the valneva trial.
Both our blue letters came today so what she has been doing clearly didn’t accelerate anything despite being told it would.
I’m currently on hold trying to do the right thing and cancel my appointment so they can use it for someone else. You can reschedule online but not cancel/opt out. I’m currently 187th in the queue!

Are you sure about the no health complaints? In our friendship group a bunch of people were called up like this. People who we had no obvious reason to think had health problems. It turned out that some had received treatment for mental health problems and in one case, their BMI was the reason they were called up early.

their BMI was the reason they were called up early.
Like that fella who was registered as being 6 inches tall.

quite a few people on here (including me) called up a few weeks early presumably due to historic medical things (that are no longer 'underlying' anything)

Could be I guess.
Oh well, didn’t take me too long to get through on the phone so cancelled mine now.
Getting my second dose tomorrow, fingers crossed for a little reaction to it as to the first.

Just got the pfizer - super smooth at Roehampton Hospital - gentle pedal home across Richmond park made for a fab morning all round. The family are off to the (fully vaccinated) grandparents so I'm also all set to spend the first night away from the three of them in 16 months. Just hope I don't feel crap later!

I ended up losing over 2kg in 36hrs thru firing out both ends and probably dehydration too. Pretty wild times.
Feeling back to normal now but completely empty inside... -

Has anyone else had their vaccinations cancelled via a text from NHS? this is the second time it has happened - was booked for first dose last Sunday but on Friday got a message saying cancelled, re-booked for tomorrow morning 30miles away, booked day off work - just got a message saying this is now cancelled, no reason offered... rebooked again and now it is next week... sigh...

Update on my Pfizer No. 1 experience - Jabbed Wed morning. Arm was tender from the start, gradually building to painful when moved / laid on by the evening. At the same time I got more tired / spaced out through the day. Slept like a log, but woke up still feeling like a log in the morning and struggled to do anything much through Thursday. Hint of a headache, but mainly lethargy. Started feeling a bit better by the evening, but a long night's sleep and I'm feeling loads better this morning, plus arm is almost pain free. Hopefully that's that.

Wish I’d thought of this for vaxx denialists

can i start licking stamps again..
Depends on whether you can travel back in time to when stamps were not self adhesive...
-
• #599
although to be fair, nothing stops you licking a self adhesive stamp if thats your thing
-
• #600
You lick the other side...
I have been given a second dose which is 8 weeks after my first (which was yesterday).this was after Turing up and my booking having been somehow cancelled when I called up to confirm it. Anyway all good and only a slightly sore arm
