  • I had a look previously and there just don't seem to be that many other suppliers in the UK, particularly if you're looking for a range of options.

  • Anyone on here who would be interested in a double monitor arm for a nice bag of filter coffee?

  • Might need more info.

  • Monitor setup silliness finally complete.

Now I can browse the forum in 5120*1440@240Hz. Time to hit up the gif thread.

  • They're a game changer, aren't they?

  • Only just arrived so will find out tomorrow, but your comment sounds promising.

  • Top tip; don't stack glasses right on the edge of the sink.

Sent two glasses absolutely flying at some sort of magic apex so glass went up the hall and into the dining room. 45mins later I've finally finished clearing the glass from the floor and nooks and crannies.

Now I just need to carefully sort through, and pick glass out of, the basket of fresh washing sitting in the kitchen that caught shrapnel.

All in all going to be a much later start to the week than I planned.

  • The bastard pins/spigots that go into the chair are a mm or two larger than the wheels the chair came with (thanks, IKEA). Wondering if brute force/drilling will irreparably damage anything.

  • Is the difference small enough to use heat?

  • No chance.

IKEA chairs are non-standard from literally the entire rest of the industry. You may be able to order IKEA specific ones but I don't think there are many about.

Drilling / brute force will just lead to buying a new chair base...

  • Drilling was fine. The hole was 10mm, which was annoyingly my largest twist drill bit size. However, the hole itself is in a plastic part with enough meat around the hole that meant I could walk the drill bit around enough to get the new spigot in and press it the rest of the way with an F clamp.

  • Means the spring loaded detent no longer exists, but the press fit means they won't drop out, and the bearing means the spigot doesn't need to rotate.

  • What's the story with the rollerblade castors? Why so good?

  • The hard plastic ones were marking up my floor (hence the cardboard mat) and felt shit to move around on. These are larger and have bearings, so less resistance and the clear rubber doesn't mark the floor.

Although I've spent the last hour slowly drifting away from my desk. When my office is done there will be a rug to help with that.

  • Fewer watts lost to rolling resistance. Really helps with maximum daily distance covered on long trips.

  • I went through a period of being seemingly unable to be near any kind of glass without smashing it, and in my frustration bought a set of these as well as some 1/2 pint ones. Not sure I'll ever need to buy cups again after these, they still look brand new and keep drinks colder for longer.

  • Cheers.

Not sure they'll fly past the OH.

Ironically they thought about not staking them on the edge in case child no1 knocked them over.

  • Are they meant to be sit-locking then? Might have to get some to avoid marking new floor

  • Wfh has been glorious for the last few days.

Tripod / iPad Pro for video calls, MacBook for emails etc. So lovely to be in the fresh air.

Set up a mesh point with wired backhaul in the garage rafters which gives me around 250Mb down / 20Mb up so streaming the cricket whilst on video calls has been no bother.

  • As in they stop rolling when you sit on them. Pretty sure it's a thing, as is the reverse.

  • Ah, these are the cheapest version I found (£20 on Amazon) so not that fancy. Locking versions may be available.
