  • Ok, I'm going to go here, gauge interest, and batch-make rounds to keep on top of things.

    ....costs include 1st postage to UK, 2x face coverings, plus I will be giving back at the end of this project too. Not that anything was wrong with the last thing (anything but!) but I realised building in donations as part of payment, then excludes me from ticking Gift Aid and they missed out on +~20% more. I'm still working out more of this, but I'd like to get this to youth cycle initiatives, and also include products too. Hopefully you can read between the lines - watch this space.

    First up;
    -Lightweight Backpack I've knocked around these ideas for over two years now. Input from CCC and riding with a mountains bag (containing wet gear for changeable/unpredictable weather and wet/cold descents), idea came to me when I saw some 'challenging' designer drawstring bags. I wanted a beautiful, elegant, easier-to-use version of the classic drawstring bag.

    Minimal construction with self-closing top, suited to ultra-racing or park beer runs, these are made from surplus ripstop parachute fabric in Olive and 15mm grosgrain straps. Version available in burnt yellow direct at Albion. V pleased with these.
    £30

    And then, a reworking of the classic;
    -Lightweight Musettes, Medium and Large.
    Similarly, I've tinkered with musettes for over a decade, and here's where I'm at. Why are they different?

    • Lightweight make can be folded into a handlebar or a jeans coin pocket
    • A box pleat base give better volume/use of material/space, making the bags more practical and useable to carry volume load
    • lightweight stabilising strap to stop the bag slipping when riding. This is changeable from L/R, can be shortened, and add a hairband loop if you want a comfort stretch bounce to it.
    • L/R loops for lights, reflective tabs, accessories, or the stabilising loop
    • Fold-over slip top gives better security to contents.
    • Retro-reflective patch gives no-brainer visibility to headlights
    • Solid construction; there's no seam in the base to split, sides are held together with grosgrain, and there's x4 bar-tacks to add strength & stability.
      £25

    I'm mid-way through making 5 back packs, 10 medium musettes, and 10 large musettes by next weekend. I'll top up and batch make, posting lists on here, round up orders, then go to DMs / repeat.

    As before, I can do some degree of customisation - if you'd like longer/shorter straps, a patch adding on, let me know and would be a pleasure to sort if I can. Prices are 'higher' than previous, b/c I worked through a few things, but if you're a fan and it's been a tough year, just dm and no-questions-asked, I'll see what I can do :)

  • Re backpacks, have you considered adding an internal separator to it (maybe at 3/4 height?) and make it a double-pocket backpack? It might complicate the process and add a little weight, but might also make it more useful. Gold or orange fabric (a'la sfbags or tom bihn) for the separator to make things more visible inside?
