The BBC's Scottish meteorologist (Carol?) loves mentioning Sea Haar and Sea Fret in the forecast. They're the only presenter I've ever heard mention it on TV though, is it a northern term?
@snottyotter has it right, a little further south in my part of the world, East Yorkshire, it is a Sea Rork from the Viking smoke
Been up in the North East, Craster, been 10°c.
Go 500m inland 20°c. Been like it the last 3 days. This photo shows it perfectly. Colloquially known as Sea Haar
