• Good evening,

I am a long time lurker, very amateur cyclist on a Ribble R872. Thrash around in North London / Hertfordshire when kids allow!

Does anyone know of secure bike parking close to the Royal London in Whitechapel, visiting for a course and would like to use the bike and avoid using tube if possible. Not got the confidence to leave my bike chained to a bike rack. Alternatively, are there any secure bike parks in the City?Could park there and then could Boris bike for the last part of the journey?

    Any advice greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

  • If you can get to stratford by train you can Boris bike it from there

  • Not been for ages but I'm sure I've seen these there
I have no idea how to arrange usage. But I would fine with leaving top end bike in one.

  • Lockers allocated to staff unfortunately so don't think you be able to use for one day! I've attached the map of cycle storage locations from the intranet, I think the double decker rack by the south tower might be your best bet in terms of security although they can be a pain to lock to!

  • Thank you all for the guidance. That double decker option behind RLH sounds like the safest option for the moment. Thanks for letting me know about it. Shame that secure options are so limited, looks like a few companies are providing this kind of service in the West End / Soho.

If anyone knows of any secure services near this part of town I would love to know.
    Thanks all!

  • I would actually suggest that you use the rack directly in front of Outpatients (again at the back), not the double decker.
I've left my bike there innumerable times on night shifts.
That being said- if its particularly bling- YMMV- and they've reduced security on the doors since re-opening to visitors, but yep- its not as bad as your brain tells you it might be.

  • Hey all, just did a search for secure bike parking in the hope of finding a generic thread, because in fact I need to go to this exact same place tomorrow for an appointment (this thread was the top result!) - so, just to refresh in case situation has changed at all since previous answers, are the above still correct, or has it improved / declined at all since?

    Thanks!

  • I went for the double decker - all seemed pretty visible and secure, one lock per wheel but also lights and other detachable still there after 6 hours left locked up 👍🏼
