[OT] Dolby Atmos AV Receiver Onkyo TXNR636

  • Selling this little great AV Receiver.
It features Dolby Atmos support and nice Phono input for your record player.

I bought it off Richer Sound in October 2019 and selling only because I want to connect my Xbox Series X and PS5 directly behind the AV Receiver and not via the TV so went for an upgrade.

eBay prices are crazy high, selling for 200 quids collected or near offers.

Will post pics, but it is still connected so not much to see a part from being in good working conditions minus a couple of scratches, but nothing big.
Comes with mic to configure it and its own remote.

    It has nice specs:
    6 HDMI 2.0 inputs of which 4 supports 4K and HDCP2.2
    ARC too
Phono audio in + 6 RCA audio in ports
    Component video, digital etc,
    Zone 2 support too.
    WiFi (Spotify too)

Pic below is for reference of the input selections

Don't think I have its box.

  • Come on, £150?

  • selling only because I want to connect my Xbox Series X and PS5 directly behind the AV Receiver

Sorry noob here. Why couldn't you connect xbox / ps5 to this?

  • You can.
And it'll stream in Dolby Atmos too. But it wouldn't do HDR pass-through to my TV.
I also have a TV that supports 120Hz and all latest goodies, so this won't work there either (HDMI2.0 for it against Xbox/PS5 HDMI2.1)

Before I was connecting the Xbox One X and PS4 directly to the TV connected in ARC to this.
I didn't get full ATMOS (that's eARC only), but worked well.

So it all depends on the TV you got really.

  • The funny thing is that the new AVR I got DOES support HDM2.1 and all, but NOT 120Hz [which will come in a future update).
So for now, even after the update, I still need to connect them to the TV directly :-/ But at least I now have eARC so all is at its best (proper Atmos to the AVR, full HDM2.1 VRR/120Hz/HDR/Dolby Vision to the TV).

Dolby Vision / 120Hz combo is not yet available to my LG CX, but it seems they're releasing the update later as they are testing it.

  • All eighty. Trying my luck on the Facebook marketplace.
