There's only 6 days from Paris to the Tokyo road events I think. There'll be inevitable fatigue from 3 weeks so why do one if outcome is not being left in the best condition to compete at the other?

didn't realise they were that close together. Ineos seem pretty understanding about their riders olympic ambitions generally, so it would seem odd if they insisted they ride the tour. That said, they do pay their wages, and I guess it's possible they didn't expect the olympics to go ahead this year again when they started planning training/ride schedules etc at the start of the year.

is it not possible they'll take Dennis and Porte to the Tour despite them doing the olympics? After all, they've had riders do both before
