I strongly beg to differ....
It’s riddled with campag and there’s not a single piece of euro-carbon in sight.
Do I even need to start on the bellend bag on the top tube?.....

How else you gonna carry 2 x clif bars and your keys? I’ll check in with Darimo and see if they’ve got one in the works

I assume everyone has been waiting for the big news. -

Quick GRX 600 vs 105 question for someone going from risers to drop bars:
Has anyone noticed any substantive difference between GRX 600 shifters and Shimano 105 7020 shifters? I was hoping the hood would be taller and more texturised with a higher pivot point. But Having the two side by side the only difference is the shape/finish of the lever blade and the base of the hoods.
The hoods are the same height, shape and the rubber texturisation on mine is identical. The pivot point is at the exact same place (to the mm) and the gubbins of shifting mechanism are identical. The only difference in the hood is the base that attaches to the bar is a tiny bit thicker on the GRX
Marketing? Gnarmaketing?

GRX is rebranded 105, said it before

I have essentially no knowledge of technical specs or marketing goals, but my instinct would be that they have altered 105 for gravel and rebranded it, as a lot of people were already running 105 for off-road from a price point and reliability (as well as familiarity) factor. Customers created the market, Shimano saw the opportunity and demand, instead of spending a million pounds building from the ground up, just adapt a reliable base model, re-use parts and add branding... thusly GRX is born.

Not so much "saw the opportunity and demand" as "were prodded in the eyes by opportunity and demand, repeatedly, for 5 solid years"

Well, yes, prezactly.

Nice that Scott have brought back the 2019 Synapse SE, big fan of that colour

Customers created the market

I wanted to build up an old school geo MTB/gravel bike with a pizza rack as a sort of rough-road/trail off to the shops or pub bike. Seems the best way to get what I want is Either second hand or Marino building me a frame. I’m happy with my Tripster but haven’t tried it with flat bars. Any other frame sets I should either consider or copy?
-
• #19498
Or maybe what I actually want is a rigid 29er frame set that I can shove a suspension fork onto at some point.
-
• #19499
Or maybe you just want a bike

@atz, I’m going the other way: from risers to drops on my Tripster ATR. Risers/flatbars make a great getaround/offroader with a long enough stem.
And in fact I may be getting rid of my carbon riser bars/hydraulic Deore M6000 brakes/105 trigger shifters cockpit/stem soon, if you’re not in a rush
I love this. Even down to the Thomson carbon seatpost you’re not allowed to attach a bag to
