  • Sounds like that price is because you need it doing before next Thursday, its a bank holiday weekend and they have more than enough work at the moment.

  • Dunno, this guy didn't seem fussed about the timing, but prices seem to potentially be nuts at the moment because there's so much work around. So maybe trying to price me elsewhere.

I had a productive afternoon anyway, it's just resulting in me doing more and more DIY!

  • Just realised that pic is like an accidental Where's Wally? for @Airhead

  • It's a joy, like a Picasso. I'm considering framing a copy.

  • Miele washing machine just started leaking from the bottom of the machine. I've checked the usual suspects and it's still happening.

Should we go with the Miele repair service or just any of the many other options that pop up on Google?

  • How old is it. I replaced the door rubber on mine recently and it fixed the problem. Cleaned everything else properly first though! It's a much easier job if you unscrew the front panel at the bottom and the door lock keep, then you can access it and maybe see where the water is coming from.

Assuming your machine is a similar era.

  • Wish I had the balls to do this.

  • It's six years old - and it doesn't seem to be leaking out of the front. The water is appearing under the front left of the machine.

  • That's a familiar sight. I've just replaced a couple of our radiators, was straightforward enough. Shame I didn't walk away with £750 at the end of the day though 🙄

  • See if you can find the method to remove the front. 6 years could be about the right time for a door seal replacement. The Miele guys are very nice though. I've seen them in action and you can learn a lot about the machines very quickly. Reassuringly expensive.

  • Fuck me, that’s pricey 😂 I should move back to London if that’s the prices they are charging now.

We were nowhere near that and changed 5 radiators today for someone in glagsow

  • The recession isn’t gonna bit until furlough ends that for sure, but this magic money tree can’t last forever and as someone else said in this thread folk are gonna be on beans and toast when it hit with the stupid amounts folk have over paid rn.

I’m sitting tight till it hits, as it’s coming and to think it’s not is insane

  • Needs more Toupret

  • Do you know the rubble sack trick? Blew my mind.

  • Out of shot ;)

I actually didn't plant the Guardz, it just happened to be there. Honest.

  • I'd hold off on thinking that until I haven't fucked it up!

However, the Government believes that it would be, in most circumstances, disproportionate to use the planning system to regulate small uses of artificial grass in residential gardens, and has no plans to introduce a requirement that planning permission must be sought for the installation of artificial grass in residential gardens.

We need to get it to 100k people...

  • Unless it's smash everything and put the remains in a rubble sack. I've got that covered.

Click the actual link and it starts 2.15 mins in which is the right place...

    Game changer!

  • Checked the in feed at the back? When I installed mine, I notice a small trickle of water on the floor at the front, turns out the threads for attaching the in feed were gritty and it was leaking from there.

  • Totally not worth the money but for smug points this was a small win; cleaned the car with (filtered) water from the roof fed waterbutt.

  • You'd be there all day with that method, couple towels and hands over the end quick enough and if its big get a pal to help.

  • That’s smart though - needs more foam canon pr0n shots

  • Wild! Empty peanut butter tubs and a towel has been my go to, along with an old inner tube zip tied to the drain valve when the whole system needs emptying.
