I have a pair of Chippewa plain toe boots I bought with Vibram sole (to replace a pair of RW moc toe) mine are dirty work boots though.
Quality of the older ones is pretty good, leather is not as good as Red Wing, but the construction and stitching etc is fine.
I don’t know about the current ones.
The Red Wings were awesome boots, unlined, black, lugged Vibram sole, same shape as the Chippewa ^ but with a moc toe.
It’s a model they don’t seem to make any more.
I bought them in 1993, there were 2 places in London that sold them!
I was a protohipster
