Is Troyes in Burgundy? I stopped overnight there in July 2016 on my way to the the alps to follow Le Tour.
It was one of those typical windless French afternoons and a cloudless sky meant the heat was stifling and the tarmac was melting (really, you could hear it sucking as it tried to stick to the tyres) but we headed out for a ride which turned out to be really nice for an ad-hoc loop. The Foret d'Orient is nearby and very pretty
