On this subject.... do people remove watches to shower?
Read that the Speedmaster (50meter water resistance) won’t survive a regular shower... seems strange when it can get to the moon... although I guess the moon isn’t wet.

I think the issue is the pushers aren't screw down in th speedy.
I remove watches but only because you can't wash your wrist without doing so.

Yeah. Mainly what Stonehedge said but also I don't think heat/steam is good for rubber gaskets in the long run.

Alright, going to see if I can get these two watches sold as I have far too many of the bloody things and a new expensive office chair to pay for.
Seiko SBDC065, aka SPB083, aka Marinemaster 200, aka “Great Blue Hole” special edition. Runs within COSC. Comes with both steel bracelet (spare links included) and the original blue silicone rubber strap, which is unworn and never fitted. RRP £1060. Cheapest online that I can see is £845. Looking for £600 ono.
Casio GMW-B5000D-1ER aka the “full metal” G-shock. Polished steel case and full stainless steel band. Worn only a couple of times. £300 ono.
I bought them both new and have looked after them carefully. Both are boxed and complete with warranty cards, spare links etc.
DM for more pics.

Anecdotally, the two most common causes of a smashed watch (as told to me by two different watchmakers) are in the bathroom and at airport security.

I'd buy that G-Shock if I didn't have one already 😂

The silver is mixed with aluminium to apparently maintain its brightness and not tarnish as normal. The thing that I think will effect this, is things like hand sanitiser that is used constantly right now. The amount of different chemicals for each brand, you haven't really got a chance that one of them won't tarnish this watch over time. I think its slightly bad timing on Tudors part.

I know Hodinkee has become divisive over the years but this Talking Watches is genuinely fantastic. Such an interesting and varied collection. Nothing boring like the usual collections.

I'm sure they would have done. In the end, Yorkshire Watches replaced it after much grumbling about me being a chancer. Unbelievably bad customer service! Glad the fuckers went out of business.
Was pretty much the first automatic watch I had owned.
