Gets people out of the house though. Mental health benefits are probably a win.

Could be good for people with arthritis and similar conditions?

That sounds nice. I have a small electric radiator that lives under my desk all winter. I get cold easily and heating the room isn't really that effective as it just rises to the top.

You clearly don't work in an office where half of the people are too hot and the other half have fan heaters under their desk
-
• #1832
True. Heaters are banned in our office due to fire risk (21st Floor) .
Thus the place is set to boiling the entire time and i couldn't tell you the last time I had to pop a jumper on nor when I have not had a desk fan running in my face.
But heat direct onto wrists... You'll cook!

The radiant heat produced by our desks permeates the air like the sun rays, without heating the desktop; instead, the heat is pushed down

what TK said - but also, I wear cashmere wrist warmers when I'm working... a heated wrist-rest thing sounds lush! I wouldn't want to be warming up the laptop or snacks though.

So now I have to wear sun cream too in the office? ffs 😂

You're gonna get golf clubbed for this admission!

cashmere wrist warmers
My other half likes the Turtle Doves ones - made from recycled clothes.

or the beer

Generally my cashmere is from uniqlo... and actually I made a mistake, my wristwarmers are just regular wool. I was thinking of the turtle doves ones I bought recently but turns out they're too small.

I can donate a ratty old cashmere jumper if you wanted to DIY.
-
• #1841
Ha! I might take you up on that. It's not like I don't have ratty old jumpers here, but y'know, cashmere is nice.

My headset has snapped (plantronics wireless cans with boom mic)
I’m thinking about a ‘airport-transfer taxi driver’ style single earpiece with mini boom mic) - reasoning being.. I’m alone at home so no real issue with external noise, when I do travel this will be easier to lug than headset and my ears get hot on long calls in the headset.
Is the ‘prick businessman at motorway services’ look preferable to ‘teenage monster-swigging gamer’

Ah, the "self-facilitating media node" look.

My work laptop even has Bluetooth locked down and £10 from Argos wired Sony mobile phone headphones have been absolutely mint.

Is Flexispot the forum approved standing desk? Had a look through this thread and seems to be a good go to.
Had planned to read up and get one in a couple of months but might pull the trigger early as haven't seen a code in a while.

I’ve got one and so have quite a few others.
Only thing I would say is to go for a dual motor one if you can (the one linked is single motor). Less jerky when moving.
Agreed. Current decision from above is that there will be fixed days for certain teams to all be in together.
The issue is a run a couple of teams which means I’ll have to be in more often.
