  • I must say that latest Black / Black Bay vid is cringe.

That said... Omega been doing it fo years.

    What did Nike say?

    Better is temporary.

  • I think people want Tudor to be the Rolex that you can obtain/afford, as it was originally intended to be. Tudor has not been that for a very long time. They know their customers are younger and market accordingly. Rolex sponsors golf, Tudor partners with Lady Gaga. Watches aren’t cool.

    Except G-Shock.

  • Here's to sponsoring golf

I just don't understand why anyone would want something fake

I deliberately have as few things as possible but what I do have I want to be the best quality I can get

    Hope everyone is doing well

This is the only online forum I am involved with ....

  • And it's a better place thanks to your posts.

  • Hi all,

So my smiths everest is now full of condensation. Is this a proper issue to be worried about and how do I get rid of it? Stick it in rice overnight?

I thought it was meant to be water resistant to 100m...

  • That sucks, one of the new ones too, right? Ideally, you'd want to contact Eddie, but I don't think I've ever heard anyone having a positive experience doing that. These come with warranty, so you might be lucky... If not, any watchmaker should be able to sort it out.

  • Yeah that’s not good. Crown out, caseback off. Don’t use rice, put it in a ziploc with silica gel. Then get it serviced. Seals have gone somewhere

  • Is this a proper issue to be worried about

Yes. Warranty claim time if it’s in warranty, trip to the watchmaker if freddo’s advice doesn’t fix it.

  • Yeah it's one of the new ones. Have also heard about negative experiences with Eddie. Will contact him first but will assume that he will be a dick and use the above advice.

    Thanks all

  • I don't know why I'm interested in this, but...

  • Cause it looks really good? The fancy Silver alloy does seem to be a case of doing something different for difference sake but yeah, looks nice.

  • Every day is new old new new Seiko diver day.

  • I mean the tarnishing. I think Tudor said that it will not tarnish. “Not in a million years” or something like that. The one in the video developed some pi55 stains after 1 month. Makes you wonder...

  • Ah, I haven't watched the vid, just read about. Maybe the dude needs to change his diet?

  • Mm, it looks like something else in the alloy tarnishing to give it that yellow colour, you'd expect silver to tarnish to grey/black. Looks terrible. He should try one of those silver tarnish cloths though. He might already know that, but I can't be bothered to look at the comments, or even watch the whole video.

Weird that he likes the case brushing that much, I don't think it's particularly nice. Looks a bit rough to me.

  • Even so, it look almost like rust! (I know it’s not but it’s very obviously yellow like some cheap material).

  • Bollocks.

The seagull is on its last legs after 5+ years...

The hand wind pin has stripped the cog inside the mechanism. Gutting and vaguely reminiscant of the sturmey archer 3 speed hub design. Weak.

I wonder if the mighty speedmaster has a similar flaw. Probably.

  • Still, 1 month. Few millions years short from their statement.

  • Yeah, it's crap. But maybe they're starting to understand why people don't make watches out of silver.

  • Better (very) late than never...

  • I thought it was meant to be water resistant to 100m...

Just in case you didn't know, 100m rating basically means you can do some light swimming or snorkelling in it but should avoid too much diving in or hanging out on the bottom of the pool.

Definitely should stand up to normal day to day lockdown life without steaming up though!

Do you think there's a chance you ever set the time and didn't screw the crown back down tightly?

  • This talk of Time factors getting a rep for crap customer service has reminded me of my dealings with another Yorkshire watch seller, the now defunct Yorkshire Watches.

They sold me a brand new Seiko that was running slow when I received it. I sent it back and they refused to replace it because "you clearly have opened the watch and tinkered with it". I hadn't even taken the plastic off, let alone worn it or opened the case. Still fuming about that.

Edit: it wasn't just running slow, it was stopping after half an hour or so. It was clearly faulty.

  • Would have thought Seiko UK would have been able to help out with that, can't imagine them being happy with ADs giving shit service. Seiko stuff should just work.
