I wish they were a different colour tbh. They're a strange brown-grey dependent on light , but they are period correct... With the lead around them tidied up they will look pretty good.
As an alternative I keep mulling over changing them and the roof to a single matching tile a few years down the line.
The builders shouldn't have taken them off ! Originally we were going to replace front and back tiles with black charred timber . Planning refused the front as the house is in a conservation area, and we decided not to do the back to keep everything consistent.
If the sinking fund remains intact we may clad the back , otherwise the builders will have to put some like for like tiles back on. Now they're off I'll get some insulation in there too
