That is true for the rest of the industry too. I recently worked with a bike brand and saw some factory and paint shop pictures. From the other stuff in the pictures unrelated to the brand I was working with, I can tell that the same factory produces frames for at least two other "cool" players in the gravel scene.

Are those bling or wank?

The big Taiwanese factories probably have more expertise than your small batch boutique manufacturer anyway... assuming the quality control is there!
-
• #19380
I'd absolutely agree with that.

.Wrong thread for spoilers
-
• #19382
Most probably. I like all three of the brands I didn't mention :D They make great stuff.
-
• #19383
Well that’s today’s after work viewing spoiled
Thanks to the stealth edit Im back to having no idea who won.
-
• #19384
Nope. Wanted it though!

Also also also, some of those team wheels you can't actually buy. Nizzolo won on 80mm deep tubs. Classic Hunt just rebranding other stuff innit
-
• #19386
well thats' not true. ballpark, Hunt wheels with hunt branded hubs cost what a LB wheelset + dt350 costs
-
• #19387
LB delivery costs changes things true, my deep section carbon hunts were substantially cheaper than my LB wheels (DT240)
-
• #19388
Sorry about that.
Then again, there's only one team using those wheels so it was pretty obvious and since there was no footage of the last 30km of the race, I saved you an hour of your life.

No stress. Was going to be hard yards staying off social media for the remainder of the working day anyway, you’ve eased my burden
-
• #19390
I am also talking shipping included

I did it to myself yesterday. I was so invested in getting HT550 info I scrolled too far and read the winner of the Giro before I'd watched the stage.
Today's stage really was a (very) damp squib.

Hardly surprising given the price differential between Novatec/Bitex hubs and DT240s.
-
• #19393
I didnt realise you could get eqvivalent of this for /under £879 from LB; https://www.huntbikewheels.com/products/hunt-50carbon-aero-disc-road-wheelset-1438g-50deep-27wide-24spoke-1099?variant=29265895686
I think those are the hunts I have
Bitex hubs pillar spokes, wether DT350 is 'better' or not is arguable, I have had amazing experience with Bitex.
-
• #19394
Yes, but the poor Bitex experience is 363.5 days and nights per years in an unpainted shed.

Hunt, Vel, Parcour, Scribe, Level, Prime... take your pick. Nothing wrong with them, they do make things convenient with all the adapters and taped rims.
Would still drop Arkane a message first. He built me some Hope wheels on nice 650b rims for close to the budget mentioned.
-
• #19396
actually I did RRTY on those 650b bitex didnt i
some vile weather and I have no idea how to service a hub
-
• #19397
Good shout, will see what they say...
-
• #19398
LBS will sometimes do a free true after the first month or so

Good shout, will see what they say...
Also, Hope five20 are close to Hunt pricing if you get the J bend spoke model.
The S-pull model is lighter and a bit spendier.J bend

I like the look of them but can't find any fronts in stock....
I don't think they make barbags though so probably not suitable for this thread
