Riesebeek looks to have questionably long socks...
Agree with @revenant-v. These are the days I love, when the breakaway guys get some freedom to light it up

christ, grim now

It’s good now. Breakaway’s blown up, pissing rain, Vicktor’s 2up TTing with some Dutch lad

Campanaerts looking a lot more confident in the wet than R'beek
edit: never mind

Mollema doing some whip skids there

That win was deserved.
-
• #34483
Richly deserved, he's been on the attack so much this race.
-
• #34484
Very much so. The amount of work he did while Riesebeek was taking the piss and not pulling ruled him out in my mind. Played the sprint well though, let the big guy jump early and sit in the draft until 60-70 to go. Perfect.

Great win for Campenaerts, and I'm pleased for Qhubeka, who've had a very good Giro.
I'm impressed Mollema stayed upright when he was waving around.

Great win by Campenaerts!

Solid podium for SD Worx at Vuelta a Burgos, with vdBreggen and Vollering going 1st and third. Van Vleuten in 2nd only 3s down.

what's this alternate commentary to GCN/Eurosport?
-
• #34489
The Giro do both an Italian and English commentary feed, which this year is being done by Ned Boulting and Matt Stephens. GCN/Eurosport don't take it as they use their own commentary team.

Just catching up after the gravel stage... are there any boring stages we can skip/ exciting stages to focus on?
Feel free to @ me so I don’t have to see spoilers

The day after the Montalcino stage was pretty dull, I'd watch the last 20 kms if you have time. Friday's stage into Verona was very dull, I'd watch the last 3 kms, they are worth watching. Yesterday was good, if you can watch the last 2 hours, but the final 45 minutes if you don't have time.

Rumours of a course change due to inclement weather 🙏

The Giro is also due to go over the Mottarone on Friday which was the scene today of the awful cable car accident.

No one having a sook about Nizzolo leaving early? No, I thought not.
-
• #34495
I'm absolutely fuming, disrespectful to the sport. Disgraceful. I spit on his Italian helmet, he should be stripped of the win and his dignity besides.
Better?

Thanks Eddy.

I think it is a bit shit everyone leaving early, especially if you do it while gushing about what a great race it is.
It devalues the maglia ciclamino as well if it's awarded to the only sprinter who hasn't fucked off early rather than the most consistent.

I did the selle ronda almost exactly two years ago, the way they are going up Pordoi, which is the cima coppi. Scenery is mind boggling, hopefully weather holds up.
-

One way of making them stay is to have a prestigious sprint stage near the end of the tour like the Champs Élysées.
Brutal back to back mountain stages in horrible weather where they might fail to make the time cut and a TT probably doesn’t sound that appealing to a sprinter.

Also today’s stage looks ridiculous.
Going to try and watch all of it.
Come on Victor. Weather looks disgraceful.
