Looks like some awful injuries from that crash

What happened?

Looks just like a touch of wheels and they’ve neutralised it for ambulance access or something? #purespeculation

No footage has been shown but the helicopter was at the same place as the crash but maybe missed everyone come down. That part had a strong tailwind combined with the start of the race the speed must have been super high.

I'm loving Dries de Bondt's slightly bonkers approach to the intermediate sprints and KOMs in the breakaways over the past week. He's on course for a top 10 in both competitions! He sprinted for the last one but let Bouchard take 1st at every KOM in the break a couple of days ago, settling for 2nd every time.

A balanced course should offer opportunities for many different types of riders. You can't have a GT consisting solely of TTs, mountain stages and sprint stages.
