  • Wondering if anyone has anything 19+mm internal.

Bit of a long shot I know but just thought I'd try before I get something built.

Pick up London or if you're willing to post that's cool.

  • What size tyre you looking at fitting? I've run 40mm with 17mm internal without any problems -Spesh fitted 42mm tyres to their 18mm 'Globe' Alexrim as standard on their Globe range. Just in case that might open up some avenues regards rim choice.

  • Probably around 50mm. Ye I'm not super concerned about them being more than 19mm, I guess 18-19 is acceptable. Tubeless and rim brake is more the problem

  • If you do decide to get some built:

    • Velocity Cliffhanger rims (new)
    • Hope Pro 2 Evo (used, in good condition and will fit new bearings)
I was going to build up myself but haven't gotten round to it but would love to finally build them up for someone!
  • Ye that would be nice but budget means probably kinlins. I have a Surly front hub I could use and I'll probably just get a Novatec F172SB Rear Hub. Trying to get something built up on a bit of a budget to use this summer.

Just realised I need 135mm rear hub, search continues for silver, rim brake, 135mm and not super expensive.

  • I’m also in the market for this kind of
thing and struggling. Let me know if you find any of the shelf options !

  • building a similar wheelset recently i went for deore t610s (they're 135 spaced, very cheap, something like £20/35 respectively off spa) and some on sale velo orange escapade rims. they're great, arguably the widest rim brake rims readily available, not tubeless. i did get them on sale for £40 a rim tho,

they now do the voyager rims which are tubeless, rim brake ready but not a machined brake track, but are sadly £80 a rim.

the only other i found was the aforementioned velocity cliff hanger

i couldn't even find a cheap kinlin rim as for 29r they're all disc.

  • Ye I almost pulled the trigger on the t610s but they’re only 10 speed? Tbh I probably would be absolutely fine with 10 speed but well yano.

I was just going to go with kinlin xr22/26 if spa have any of the rim brake versions left.

@tom-g there’s a guy who sells hand built wheels on eBay, he said he would do a set of t610s on DT Swiss r460s for 220. They’re sleeved/pinned though and only 18mm inner width but they are tubeless.
