• Extremely rare Thomas Donhou stainless steel road bike in very good condition.

This was built for me in the Summer of 2016 by Tom. It’s an absolute dream bike that’s without a doubt the smoothest I’ve ever ridden. I’m only selling this to make up some extra cash for the deposit on our first house :( It’s only seen ~4000 miles, and was constantly serviced by SBC Cycles in Hoxton. All the Chris King bearings have recently been serviced too. Tom no longer makes custom or stainless frames, so think of this as a collectors item.

Full spec can be found here - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mwA-xVsLiSQOlcbf--nns4dwyJAcy-h8HM-l5fwodpo/edit?usp=sharing

The sizing is custom, but it’s essentially a 56cm frame. Detailed sizing can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Zci1rYBasz_HxT8UnqeLpyQjloNYoon7/view?usp=sharing

My total spend on this was just over £7000, so I’m open to offers around £3000- £4000.

  • Bloody nice bike, and the appreciation of need for deposit monies is real, but being brutally honest, that offer price isn’t realistic (for LFGSS at least).

Listing all parts and specs such as wheel rim internal dia, frame clearances, sizes etc would certainly increase your chances - and also provide a good starting point for potential interest in the composite parts which is likely to get you closer to that £3/4K figure than selling as a full bike.

  • All good Dick, appreciate the honesty! I've added a link to the full spec which might be of use, apologies for forgetting to add it earlier.

    Have a good one.

  • very nice build indeed.
i second the advice above. quick second hand maths still lead to an asking price of about 2.5k for frameset. No doubt donhou+woundup is a unique combo, but...

  • Love my donhou and really happy with his communications . He is over in greece at the moment . I rate his welding/brazing.

  • I love this frameset, classic Donny design. Personally if i were you I'd keep the frameset. My Donny is currently being stored for that day I can afford to build it back up with shiny new parks and also the space to have another bike. Although, atm people would be lucky to get a Donhou any other way anytime soon.

  • Actually his order book is back open on his email news.

  • I'd second this - you'll never get back an amount selling a custom frame that adequately compensates!

@harrycopeman Sell the parts, make as much cash as you can that way but keep the irreplaceable bit which will always be worth more to you than you'll get for it.

Easy to say when you're not the one who needs to scrabble cash together, I appreciate, but my 2c anyway!

Good luck with the sale, whichever way it ends up going

  • Keep the frame . 👍

  • Keep it. Very beautiful

  • Stunning frameset, one of the nicest I've seen in ages. Not my money, but if that were mine, you'd have to offer me more than it's worth to part with it (if that makes any kind of sense!)

  • Ooh its an XCR one 👌 very spendy and very nice

  • Hi is this still available?
