  • That'll need a service realistically if not been looked at since 2006.

  • Or I can take it off your hands , no questions asked , nudge nudge .

  • Talking of services, how religiously do you, dear forumist, stick to the recommended schedule?

  • Yeah, I went for the full service. No point in having a watch sitting about that doesn’t work and worth the £ considering the time I have had it.

    9 week wait though...

  • I don't take any notice of it at all. I just let the guilt seep into my soul.

  • I do not own a watch worth servicing really, so not put much thought into it, just wondered WWLufgusD

  • Those quartz seamaster divers fetching sensible money , last couple I sold went for much more than when new.

    the wut?

  • The guy in the shop was impressed with what I paid in 2006.

The weight in it is amazing, wore it down and forgot how much of a brick it is.

  • Hey a few of you helped a lot before, and I went for a Hamilton Field Mechanical. Thanks for the help! The only thing I really miss is the date, but it just wasn’t going to happen.
I’m now wondering how to wash the NATO strap as it has leather bits on it. Can I chuck it in the wash or do I need to do the old toothbrush and soapy water?

  • Hamilton Field Mechanical... ...really miss is the date... ...wasn’t going to happen.

    What you end up with?

  • how precious of the strap are you?

I would chuck it in the wash and see what happens, if nothing else it's a good reason to buy a new strap or 3

Pop it in a protective laundry bag and wash it with an antibacterial additive.

Edit: oh, just saw the leather bit. Maybe by hand in the sink with an antibacterial additive and toothbrush on the nylon, and then some leather care stuff on the leather bits after to stop it drying out.

  • Having owned that watch and that strap I wouldn't wash it. I'd do exactly what @regal said

  • Quartz! Outrageous!

  • This is a safe space. That’s a nice watch.

  • Actually I recently remembered how cool the quartz SUS reissue Seikos are. Still want one of those.

  • Went and tried on the Pelagos, really liked it.
Didn't buy it, because it was the window model and I would rather one that hadn't been sat under lights and (potentially) been molested by every cunt in Essex.
    Am I the arsehole?

  • New Tudor watch on Tuesday? Bets anyone?

    Smaller Pelagos?
    BB58 GMT
    Green Pelagos?
Something weird with MN? It’s not going to be a snowflake sub is it

  • Prime candidate for a discount though!

  • Got this one. Apologies for the cat hair and shit photo. Also got a second black strap for when I wash this one, which now has cake mix on it.

  • @DethBeard - nah, I wouldn't buy a window model either. If I'm buying new I want box fresh.

@PawG - 39mm Pelagos LHD pls! But let's be real, that's never gonna happen. BB58 GMT would pique my interest though.

  • Great watch. Loved the winding action on that and the big crown. Enjoy 👍
