If you click the post number it links to all relevant messages too. Works all the time.

Hm, post number I haven’t tried, thanks.

• #3608
I always use that, I hadn't tried the in reply to way before.

It's never not worked in my experience. Fine every single time providing the person replies to the specific post..

Oliver mentioned something about pics interfering with the placement on the page, shrug.

Just picked this up from @retrodicorsa.
Colour is even better in real life. Got Columbus carbon 1" forks for it, plus original chrome forks if I decide to switch back to 1" threaded.
Putting 11 speed Chorus on it. This is going to be my best bike for nice weather rides.
Can't remember being this excited by a new bike.

What torque does one use on a steel frame? I'm running about 8Nm on the seat post and on the stem/handlebar - too much? Too little?
-
• #3623
Seat binder should be about 6.5nm max (m6 / ungreased). Stem wedge bolt about 14-16nm (m8). Bar bolts probably 4-6nm depending on size, and (more importantly) bar material, thinking of a removable clamp stem here, not sure about pinch bolt type.

That's helpful - thanks. I'm running a Deda Murex stem, which has a removable plate, but underneath, rather than face-on.

Way too much - I use about 4 Nm. I generally adhere to the philosophy that when clamping around cylinders you want to use as little torque as will keep your part where you want it under normal use. You don't want to crush anything.
gah that's sad to hear. I love that. It was that pic that put me onto the Nitto m186's...
