Thanks for the info - interesting to hear the fuel economy isn’t great, as I thought it would be pretty decent on these little guys! They do seem to be popular with as a run around with people who also drive very fast and expensive cars, which is why I’m assuming they must be good fun to drive for a little nipper.

It's a great (characterful?) engine, which can see a reliable 220bhp with the Garrett. It isn't however a modern low boost unit, so if you're on it everywhere, it will drink fuel. Unfortunately, that's addictive! I see about 35mpg with mixed driving but very few long journeys. @small nice Campovolo! Best colour along with white imho.
I have a 2016 595 Competizione. Doesn't lead the class in any department really, but somehow great fun. I agree the naming convention is a mess but I can mostly explain, the main models are the std, Turismo and Competizione. Std is 135/140/145bhp or 160bhp as the 'Esseesse' and all had IHI turbos, the Turismo and Competizione from 2015 have the slightly larger Garrett turbo making either 160bhp or 180bhp. Competizione gets better kit eg Brembo brakes, Sabelt seats. All look pretty similar, 2015 gained a TFT combi meter and there was a significant exterior/interior facelift late 2016 which are termed S4. I still don't know what the difference is between 500s & 595s, I think really just another badging exercise. You should be able to get something decent and enthusiast owned for £4-£5k but like anything similar keep an eye out for those that have been modified/ragged. Appears quite a few owned by larger sports car owners and used as second car or runabout, these are the ones to find!
Largely reliable and majority of parts common with boggo 500s. Suspension is very crashy, particularly on early cars, can be helped by fitting Fiat Coupe bump stops and later shocks. Fuel economy is not amazing for a 1.4T unless you are being careful.
