Removing the retaining washer may help but I’m always a bit concerned that the bushing may deform, split or do something else unplanned (completely disintegrate if it’s really old?) during general radness.

Haha, brilliant - just read the bio on his eBay store, was my hero when I was in primary school!
My joints are made of cheese these days so bouts of radness may be few & far between, I've loosened the current bushings off as far as they'll go - from memory the trucks didn't get that much use before being mothballed so hopefully it'll be rideable before I sort some new ones out, ta for the help!

Cool - i'll have a look around for softer bushings & take it from there, any opinions on removing the bushing plate things to loosen things up?
Is that the same Sean Goff of 80's skateboard fame?
