Brother-in-law bought this.
It’s terrifyingly quick and the fucker had it sideways around a roundabout coming off the M5 last weekend.
Part of me would love to own one but part of me also couldn’t quantify the running costs.
The key stopped working, so he called the McLaren support and a bloke appeared within the hour and changed the batteries.
Apparently, if there’s an issue, it’s almost always to do with the key

I'm moving to an new house and new studio in Frome soon, and will no longer need to use a large vehicle for regularly transporting multiple bikes / frames between my studio in Bristol and the office in Frome.
I think I'm going to keep the Disco for occasional bike lugging and work horse duties, but i would like to get a small & economical yet also fun car for general run about usage. I really like the Fiat 500 Arbarths. Anyone on here have one? Can i get a good one for £4-5K? There are a few different 500 Arbarth Variants it seems.... I'll be fucked if i can tell what the difference is...?

I remember going to visit Charco years ago, noticing a really nice 912 parked on his street and checking it out in detail before I arrived. Then I met you at the party with a Porsche key in your pocket.

Love the flat-folding-front-seat feature in my #normcoredadwagon
Swallowed a 2.3 metre long bed without blinking.

Top spot on the lunchtime walk. No idea what this is other than a Bedford.

Honda Civic is better at motorways than the Jazz, looks less embarrassing and you can still fit two bikes in the boot. Will also do 50mpg on longer trips if you have a light right foot too.

I have a 2016 595 Competizione. Doesn't lead the class in any department really, but somehow great fun. I agree the naming convention is a mess but I can mostly explain, the main models are the std, Turismo and Competizione. Std is 135/140/145bhp or 160bhp as the 'Esseesse' and all had IHI turbos, the Turismo and Competizione from 2015 have the slightly larger Garrett turbo making either 160bhp or 180bhp. Competizione gets better kit eg Brembo brakes, Sabelt seats. All look pretty similar, 2015 gained a TFT combi meter and there was a significant exterior/interior facelift late 2016 which are termed S4. I still don't know what the difference is between 500s & 595s, I think really just another badging exercise. You should be able to get something decent and enthusiast owned for £4-£5k but like anything similar keep an eye out for those that have been modified/ragged. Appears quite a few owned by larger sports car owners and used as second car or runabout, these are the ones to find!
Largely reliable and majority of parts common with boggo 500s. Suspension is very crashy, particularly on early cars, can be helped by fitting Fiat Coupe bump stops and later shocks. Fuel economy is not amazing for a 1.4T unless you are being careful. -

The best the Outback has done since we've had it is king size bed, chest of drawers and 3 bedside tables. Also we moved house with it which on reflection was a bit silly.

The cat theft problem definitely has me thinking twice about recommending a jazz or civic. Which is annoying as when our jazz dies we’ll have to figure out what the next best alternative is.

Thanks for the info - interesting to hear the fuel economy isn’t great, as I thought it would be pretty decent on these little guys! They do seem to be popular with as a run around with people who also drive very fast and expensive cars, which is why I’m assuming they must be good fun to drive for a little nipper.

15k for a right hand drive project seems cheap.
