Get a bigger one. I used to use mine as a hammer.
-
• #15878
Hammer head spanners are a thing. They're nicknamed "mining spanners".
-
• #15880
Holy shit, it's like someone read my mind.
Mind you, if they'd read my mind they'd know that ANY tool can be used as a hammer.
-
• #15881
AWE refers to them as the "thumb detecting nut fucker". And while a lot of his mannerisms are annoying, that one stuck.

Bahco adjustables are reasonably useful.
-
• #15883
This. A quality adjustable makes all the difference. No more damaged jaw faces and desperate waggling trying to loosen the locked-up threads after you’ve tightened something up.

In your toolbox,

or,
just an image found on t'net? -

I hate H Plus Son rims. There, I said it. I hate their stupid name,
I hate the way they look[edit: ok I changed my mind on that one] and their stupid logo. I bet it's not even H plus any Son anyway, it's probably like Mumford and Sons where it's actually Mumford and Chums. At least you can pick their stickers off and nobody then knows. -

I have one, it's nice
-

Thanks, it's on the shopping list.
-
• #15893
Wow, this is a thing too!

Looks like a shark all right, a pathetic one from Viz. Can't be arsed to find a picture.

That’s got ‘skinned knuckles’ written all over it. It annoys me when people use the wrong tool for the job.
I keep seeing videos on Facebook of people turning angle grinders into different tools and terrifying because people don’t seem to understand that they have clutch and are lethal in the wrong hands.
-
• #15896
I know that they are lethal and have seen enough videos about dangerous attachments to make me not want to use one outside of its intended functions. But what does it having a clutch add the the issue (genuine question)?

I have the knipex cobra water pump pliers as my go to adjustable wrench. I only have a small pair but they are great for a range of tasks from tinkering with the coffee machine through to adjusting the big hinge nuts on a 12 foot 4 bar gate.

Can't be arsed to find a picture
Wouldn't that be the apathetic sharks?

Looks like at least one function could be used
to put stones in horses' hooves.
it's not the poor spanners fault you can't be bothered to find the actual correctly sized tool for the job :p
