From my own personal experience, you won't get more than a "true" 25mm tyre on fairly narrow 15-17mm internal rims.
I've read of Z5 owners sending their frame back to Parlee even to have the chainstays modified they like the frames that much (but want to run more modern tyre/rim combos).
