our kitchen coffee grinder (Iberital MC2) is on its way out after 10 years of hard graft on the espresso machine.
I am keen to replace and upgrade hopefully, got a few hundred quid to throw at it for something decent if anyone has anything they want to shift?

Lol, you must be new to the coffee thread. That's more LFGSS darts club budget for a coffee grinder in there!
-

I think it's been established that you'd only hear about expensive pod machines marketed by George or built-in bean-to-cup machines at the golf club bar.

There's a lufgus darts club!?
There should be... and a pub skittles league.
Anyone for dominos or cribbage?

How about a bit of Cheese Skittles?

Amazing. I'm in.

I have to say I thought my £40ish Krupps grinder was a bit extravagant. Maybe I shouldn't look at the coffee thread.

Pubs in Warkwickshire used to have the Cheese Skittles tables in when I was a teenager. Great game.

Miss darts nights since the pandemic. I've got many happy memories including the opponent who jauntily told us he'd 'just got out of prison for murder', was joking about and friendly to everyone until he started losing his game. Cue the whining, questioning the scores, saying we were taking points off him, adding points to his opponent etc. 'this is turning into a grudge match' he opined, to which our scorer replied 'Yes, you versus maths'. He did not enjoy the laughter at that.
Anyways he lost his game, and with it the match and with that his shit. Started shouting, calling us cheats, threatening people and saying he was going to smash the place up. Was kicked out and remained outside, shouting through a window for some minutes. Still don't know if he was a murderer or just trying to intimidate, certainly had issues.

Anyone else making cultured butter?
Meals from a local chef always have amazing butter which he makes in house.
He uses yoghurt to culture his but as we already make our own kefir I have been using this to culture the cream.🙄

That’s is not golf club chat
Yoga / barre studio maybe -

Cultured butter? When did the bar get raised so high?
Do we have a 'Overheard at the Heston Blumenthal Restaurant' thread?
-
• #1695
He recovered by asking about making it himself. It’s the difference between ‘oh yes the local chef makes lovely exotic butter’ to ‘I went somewhere posh and want to replicate it at home with what I have in the fridge’. Could be golf club, but more likely a visitor, not a full member.
-
• #1696
No. He's a regular.

• #1697
A regular member, churning their own butter like a Dutch milkmaid?

Do we have a 'Overheard at the Heston Blumenthal Restaurant' thread?
Jonas Lodge who taught me about this trained with Raymond Blanc and has worked with Heston.

parmos in general
Had one for the first time last summer, blew my mind. Like a giant pizza made out of chicken.

I don't think that's golf club material.
