There has been some questions about the structural integrity of the rear brake bridge on the Kirk frame.
I did check the frame again and the brake bridge seems solid, two pins are visible both sides into the seatstays. Looks like its factory pinned and bonded. No movement is visible when flexing the back end by hand but hard to say whats happening at a microscopic level.
Looks like paint is cracked where it is covering the join between brake bridge and stays due to bad paint adhesion at the join rather than anything structural. The pinned joint, metal and bond looks solid.
I was planning to sandblast it prior to a complete respray but sadly have no time now! -

How much does that thing weigh?

oh man! this was my dream bike (in MTB form) when I was about 12yrs old.
I was fascinated by how they could make a bike frame from sea water.
I've still never owned one... might add to my eBay wishlist.GLWS

About the same as a steel race frame from that era, so not super light by todays standards. Who cares about weight though when it could look this cool!

I raise you this

Yes the MTB with elevated chainstay! Remember seeing Kirk bicycles featured on BBC tommorows world in the late '80s and wanted one since, shame no time to fully restore this one as I'd intended

Very nice with the spinergys too! The UCI would love it. I like the neo-retro build. Just noticed this must be one of the first sloping top tube road bikes, maybe pre dates a mike burrows giant? truly ahead of its time!

I think that's true.
"There was also only one size available, approximately 22in. The claim was that the frame design would accommodate riders of heights between 5ft 5in and 6ft 2in, using varying lengths of seat post and handlebar stem"
there used to be a really informative (now dead) site about Kirk bicycles. you can still access it here: https://web.archive.org/web/20180315160248/http://www.kirk-bicycles.co.uk/Kirk-History.htm

Hello. Is this frame still available?
I'd like to buy.
Had this in storage for ages and realised I'm probably not going to restore and build it so looking for a good home!
