Strength of the fixing depends on loads of stuff.
Fixing into Victorian stock bricks is always a bit sketchy ime.
If your plug is in securely, the size of the screw (cross section/sheer strength) not the length is what matters.
I’d go for 5.5/6mm and brown plugs.
