It definitely shouldn’t be.

Maybe the battery has leaked and corroded the case back?

Maybe. The stem goes through the caseback though, so it is retained in that way. I suspect some putty would help me here, but even if I had that, I would be reluctant to learn how to use it on this.

Ah. Looks like a split stem. They’re a PITA.

Looks like you’ve already managed to remove the crown though?
