  • Any recommendations for a trusted watchmaker in East London that will fit a battery? I just built up the courage to open this and the caseback is actually attached to the movement/watch face. I’m not inclined to try and work out how to pry them apart.

    I took it to Omega and they wanted about 80 quid and two weeks to do it, so they can fuck off. Is Alsal the only place? I’m not taking it to Timsons or anywhere like that because if anything happens to it I will kill every person on this train (10 points to anyone who gets that reference).

    It definitely shouldn’t be.

    Maybe the battery has leaked and corroded the case back?

  • Maybe. The stem goes through the caseback though, so it is retained in that way. I suspect some putty would help me here, but even if I had that, I would be reluctant to learn how to use it on this.
