There are loads of people who claim to come from Derby on the Football thread. It seems that they all live in London.

I lived in Derby for six months. You have my sympathy.
-
• #4
Who in their right mind would claim to come from there?

Hopefully the new velodrome will get built and quickly, that's got to be a good thing for cycling in the area, the national BMX track is also good fun for a mess around on... Although not really a Fgss outing.
Where a bouts are you moving to? Derby centre?

Hello Pista!! Il still be mooching around Brumski!
Keep in touch! -
• #12
The bmx track is right where i live gonna have a little investigate on my single speed Kona, Will probably get stoned by kids!
-
• #13
don't take drugs from kids, just think "why is it they want me stoned?" .... they might want their way with you, this is Derby after all
-

Next to BMX track just before you fall in river you will see the cycle route, it's a good surface and runs into derby or if you head the other way then you have a 20mile ish run on good mostly traffic free surfaces, I tend to use it at lunchtimes for a quick ruout as I work on pride park. And as mentioned cycling in derby is awful, as roads make no sense whatsoever.

I live in Ilkeston and I'm planning to race at the new velodrome when it's built. My fixed bike is a Pompino for now. Looking forward to track racing and meeting some other hipsters on fixed bikes.

Supernatural thread dredge here. Just about to move from the Isle of Man to Derby (sorry I mean Derbeh) Having spent my entire fixed gear life so far in isolation I thought it would be nice go meet some real FGSS people...in person.
Riding wise i'm limited at the moment as i'm constantly tackling chronic prostatitis caused through...cycling but would love to meet up for a chat. Is there anybody out there? -

I moved up recently to just north of Derby. Feel free to DM me. I think there's a few others about judging from the peak district rides thread. You are gonna love riding round here!

-
• #23
I moved during lockdown, so not a clue first hand. My club mates say it is awesome, though

I’ve been a couple of time. Once for a taster session and once to watch the British Omnium champs. I think it is a really cool design and so eye catching from the outside. I’m really looking forward to getting some regular track time there
