  • My great grandfather was Irish and I think that's one generation too removed but my dad has promised to fill out the paperwork to claim his Irish passport or whatever it is you can claim. And then potentially I could do so. I think his dad was maybe born in Ireland but I know very little about that side of my family sadly

  • I think if your dad is claiming it from his grandparents then he needs to have done the application before you were born for it to then carry on to you. I had to request mine to be fast tracked so it was processed before my daughter was born.

  • And you have to register the birth with the Irish government, if you’re weren’t born in Ireland.

  • Right yeah, that would make sense. I guess he can go live in the south of France then but I'm stuck here with this miserable lot
